Police took right actions: Azam

PNS

Minister for Minority Welfare and senior Samajwadi Party leader Mohammad Azam Khan said that the police action against the boy for posting objectionable posts on the social networking site Facebook was cent percent right. While talking to the reporters in Rampur on Sunday he said that the action of police was right as the matter was directly related to him. The opposition has got the opportunity to support the accused “because it is against him all the time,”

Khan, targeting the media said that the last communal riots that happened in Muzaffarnagar was the result of these kinds of posts on the social networking sites. Forgetting the incident the media backed the boy who has moved the Supreme Court against his arrest. He also cleared that the boy who posted those objectionable comments is neither a student nor a minor.

It may be mentioned that the Supreme court has sought an explanation from the State government about arrest of this 19 year-old boy, a student of class 12, for posting an ''objectionable'' comment about Azam Khan. Police said that the comment made by the boy was '' defamatory and inflammatory''.  The arrest of the boy was the contradiction of section 66 A of the information Technology Act that an arrest would not be made without the consultation of high ranking police officers like IG or DCP. However the boy got bail after staying in jail for 2 days.
