PNS Mulayam targets ministers of SP

For ministers and MlAs of the Samajwadi Party, the New Year began with a nasty note with party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav accusing them of enjoying the comforts of power and showing scant regard for the people and their grievances.

He however lauded his Chief Minister son Akhilesh Yadav saying that he got little time to focus on important issues after meeting the common man and rank and file of the party.

The SP chief also targeted officers of the CM’s secretariat saying, “The officers are absent from the office and important files are being returned by the Secretariat without approval like it happened in case of a Health department file implementing the provision for free treatment and medicine,” charged Mulayam.

Mulayam Singh Yadav was addressing a congregation of party leaders and workers at the party’s Vikramaditya Marg headquarters on Friday.

Particularly targeting the members of legislative Council, the SP chief said, “Some MlCs are in the habit of behaving in a princely manner and are least bothered about their obligations towards the people.  The elections to the UP Assembly are not far away. From March, the state will slip into the election mode and you need to pull up your socks and start preparations,” said Yadav.

“Do you want to win the next Assembly polls. If yes, then you will have to work for the people, help the poor and those needing medical treatment,’’ said the SP chief.

“Personal comfort and enjoyments are high on the priority list for ministers and MlAs and they do not have time to meet common people and redressing their grievances. They must change ways and remain in touch with the people and do their best to help them,’’ advised Mulayam Singh Yadav.

The ministers and cadres to pay special attention to problems of farmers who were reeling under the twin impact of damage to crop due to unseasonal rains followed by the drought.

Since the SP formed the government in March 2012, Mulayam has been upbraiding ministers, MlAs and also the CM. In the cabinet reshuffle in October last, several ministers were dropped for inefficiency and corruption, new faces were inducted and a few were promoted as cabinet ministers.

Citing the fate of the left parties in West Bengal, the SP chief said the CPM ruled the state for 34 years as they worked for the poor, farmers and minorities. But they committed the mistake of ordering police firing for acquiring land for an industrial house and the people dislodged them from power,” said Mulayam.
