The SP-BSP-RLD combine in UP got a shot in the arm as little known Phoolan Sena on Friday announced its support to the alliance candidates in constituencies going to polls in the sixth and seventh phases of Lok Sabha elections.
The announcement was made by Phoolan Sena’s state president Virendra Nishad at a press conference in the presence of leader of opposition in UP Vidhan Sabha, Ram Govind Chaudhary.
Nishad said the Bharatiya Janata Party government had done nothing for the Nishad community in UP hence they had decided to defeat the BJP in the Lok Sabha elections.
He also alleged that Phoolan Devi’s ‘killer’ Sher Singh Rana was given BJP ticket and was described as ‘Hindu Hriday Samrat’, hurting the sentiments of Nishads.
“We believe that BJP is anti-poor and anti-Nishad because despite High Court order the UP government is not giving SC/ST certificate to the Nishad community.
Virendra Nishad said the Nishad community was determined to wipe out BJP from Uttar Pradesh.
Chaudhary said the Phoolan Sena had good support in 20 districts of UP, and the gathbandhan candidates would benefit from this support in the remaining two phases.
On this occasion, Bharatiya Samaj Party’s Rajesh Rajbhar, Ramashankar Rajbhar and Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party’s Suresh Rajbhar and Dinesh Rajbhar announced their decision to join the Samajwadi Party. Chaudhary welcomed them into the party fold.
