The ruling Samajwadi Party alleged that ‘two magicians’ from Gujarat were trying to hijack democracy in UP elections and were indulging in ‘political terrorism’.

Samajwadi Party spokesperson and cabinet minister Rajendra Chaudhary alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president  Amit Shah were trying to hijack democracy in the state by indulging in communal politics. “ These ‘two magicians’ from Gujarat are trying to hyptonise the voters of UP,” he alleged.

Addressing a press conference in lucknow on Monday,  Chaudhary said that people would give befitting reply to the `political terrorism’ unleashed by the BJP.

“How can the country accept such a party which has ignored the minority community and promoting one community and was trying to hijack democracy,” he alleged.

Alleging that the BJP leaders, Union ministers and Chief Ministers of other states were on  ‘political tourism’ in the state  during the Assembly elections, Chaudhary said that the PM was making false statements about UP and was hatching a conspiracy to defame the SP government.

Meanwhile, Maulana  Sayeed Mohammad Khalid Ashraf of  Kichaucha Sharif of Ambedkarnagar district appealed to the Muslims to support the SP on the issue of development. Besides,  Rashtriya Mahan Gantantra Party led by Anand Nishad too announced its support to the SP- Congress alliance.

The UP Congress also criticised the PM and BJP  for their attempts to communalise the UP polls. “ There is no issue before the BJP in this election hence they are trying to create a communal divide to win the polls,” alleged UP Congress vice-president and Chairman of Media Cell Satyadev Tripathi in lucknow on Monday.
