People scared to go out of their houses after dusk : Satyadeo Singh

To keep the issue of poor law and order alive, the Bharatiya Janata Party will stage a protest outside Vidhan Bhawan on August 22 – the day the Monsoon session of the state legislature begins.

State BJP general secretary Satyadeo Singh said that the people are scared to go out of their houses after dusk. "The situation in Uttar Pradesh is so bad that girls have refused to go to colleges because they are not sure whether they will return alive in the evening or not. In this scenario people want an end to this government," he said while addressing party workers in lucknow on Wednesday.

Singh said that SP workers are calling the shots while the police remain a mute spectator. "They do not dare to arrest criminals because these goons were getting patronage from the ruling party," Singh said.

“What hurts most is that SP president Mulayam Singh Yadav admits this prevailing lawlessness in UP. Another senior minister Shivpal Singh Yadav wants party leaders not to grab land. He equated land grabbing with poor law and order, yet Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, who also holds the Home department, has taken no action to rein in criminals,” Singh said.

The BJP leader said that the BJP will `gherao’ Vidhan Bhawan on August 22 to raise this issue and appeal that if Chief Minister was unable to control law and order, he should step down.

“We also request Mulayam Singh ji to take immediate step to save the people of this state from the goonda raj of Samajwadi Party workers,” he said.

Meanwhile, Union Health minister JP Nadda will lead the Tiranga Yatra in lucknow on August 19 and address a workers’ meet at Nirala Nagar.
