People embracing ‘INDIA’, says Pramod Tiwari

Veteran Congress leader and Member of Parliament Pramod Tiwari claimed that the victory of opposition party candidates in several seats, including the decisive win of Samajwadi Party candidate Sudhakar Singh in the Ghosi assembly constituency in Mau, has demonstrated that the ‘INDIA’ bloc has been embraced by the people as an alternative to the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance government.

Tiwari said that this was just a ‘trailer’ of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, and the people had rejected the NDA government and its anti-people policies.

He said that the people of the country were fed up with the statements, false promises, fraud, betrayal, cheating, inflation, unemployment and corruption of the BJP. “The public was looking for an alternative and the 10 per cent voters of the country who were waiting for an alternative have now found an alternative in the form of ‘INDIA’,” he said.

“The massive victory of the SP candidate in Ghosi proves the truth of my statement that INDIA’s candidate will get more than 50 per cent votes in every seat,” he added.

Tiwari said that the historic victory of ‘INDIA’ and the defeat of the BJP in the by-elections held for district panchayat members in districts like Mirzapur, Bareilly and Jalaun, including state capital Lucknow, had proved that the BJP had been uprooted from all regions.

Meanwhile, on the first anniversary of Bharat Jodo Yatra on Thursday, Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee took out a padyatra in all 75 districts of the state, in which thousands of Congressmen took out foot marches with the national flag in their hands.

Congress spokesman Anshu Awasthi said that on the first anniversary of Bharat Jodo Yatra, senior Congress leaders, MLAs/former MLAs, former MPs and AICC members, PCC members, members of Congress Seva Dal, Youth Congress, students’ organisation, Mahila Congress and Kisan Congress took out a foot march on Thursday.

Awasthi said UP Congress president Ajay Rai joined the padyatra in Prayagraj and pledged to follow the ideal inspiration and objective of Bharat Jodo Yatra by taking out the march from Anand Bhawan to Chandrashekhar Azad Park and singing the national anthem.

Expressing his gratitude to all the people of the state for the immense public support received on the anniversary of Bharat Jodo Yatra, Rai thanked the party workers and said that the people were fed up with the jungle raj of the BJP, under which discrimination and corruption were increasing.

“Rahul Gandhi has spread the message of love from house to house and today is the time to take that pledge again,” he claimed.

In Lucknow, thousands of Congress leaders and workers gathered under the leadership of Congress district president Ved Prakash Tripathi and took out a march from Shaheed Smarak to Kaiserbagh.

Rashtriya Lok Dal chief Jayant Chaudhary congratulated the SP candidate for the victory.

“Thanks to the voters of Ghosi, Uttar Pradesh, for encouraging INDIA by registering a big win! Congratulations to the candidate from Ghosi,” the RLD chief said.
