Owaisi to visit State in month end

With an eye on the UP Assembly polls, All India Majlis-e-Ittehedual Musalmeen is getting into the pro-active mode and party chief Asaduddin Owaisi  is planning a mass contact programme in the state from the month end.

State MIM president Shaukat Ali said that this time Owaisi will be visiting the state for eight days - four days in east UP and rest in west UP districts. Owisi's visit will also set in motion the selection of candidates for the 2017 polls.

Ali said that the MIM is likely to contest all Assembly seats in UP and will specifically focus on Mmuslim-dominated seats across the state.

"The party has started screening candidates for the 2017 elections. People in large numbers from all sections of society particularly Muslims, Dalits and OBCs are not only joining the outfit but also keen on contesting the polls asd they are disillusioned with the policies and conduct of the SP and  the BSP,’’ claimed Ali.

The MIM leader said that during the recent visit of Owaisi in Balrampur, Siddarthnagar and Jaunpur districts, the support received especially from the youth, was huge where he addressed dozens of whistle stop meetings.

Ali said, "The objective behind contesting the polls is expanding and strengthening the outfit across the state. Creating a strong party structure at grass root level will be difficult if we do not the contest Assembly and Parliament polls.’’

"The SP government is so scared of MIM that it has denied permission to rallies to be addressed by Owaisi in Azamgarh, Agra, lucknow, Allahabad and other districts, over four dozen times. The ruling SP has no face to show to Muslims as it has singularly failed to honour the promises made to the community ahead of  the 2012 Assembly polls," said Shaukat Ali.
