Opposition parties claimed that poor turnout in the Narendra Modi's Vijay Shanknaad rally here on Sunday is enough proof that the popularity of the BJP’s prime ministerial candidate was waning.

Samajwadi Party spokesperson and state minister Rajendra Choudhury said that the turnout in the Mulayam Singh Yadav's rally at Allahabad was more than the Modi's rally in lucknow. "After spending crores of rupees, people rejected Modi and BJP and refused to attend the rally," he said in a statement here.

Congress spokesperson Amarnath Agarwal too claimed that  the rally of Modi was a total failure and it proved that money cannot make people to attend the rally. "By the time election comes the so called Modi wave would be gone and people would prefer to vote for a secular political party like Congress," he said. Rashtriya lok Dal (RlD) state president Munna Singh Chauhan too claimed that the BJP's rally was a total failure." Modi should accept his defeat after the lucknow rally," he said.
