Taking a dig at Rahul Gandhi without naming the Congress leader Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak said on Tuesday that the one whose party was responsible for breaking India and whose policies broke the society by promoting casteism, nepotism, communalism, regionalism, terrorism and naxalism is taking out Bharat Jodo Yatra.

Addressing mediapersons at the BJP’s state headquarters  on Tuesday, Pathak said: “Those whose history has been of breaking India into pieces are talking about uniting India. Those who worked to weaken the democracy are taking out Bharat Jodo Yatra,” the minister said.

Pathak said Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Uttar Pradesh has brought him to his knees. “People of the country, especially Uttar Pradesh, have been continuously rejecting  the Congress. That is why the Congress is compelled to take out a symbolic yatra,” he said.

“Rahul Gandhi, who could not keep the people of Amethi with him, has set out on the Bharat Jodo Yatra. Will Rahul Gandhi ji apologise to the public for the Emergency imposed by the Congress in the country,” the deputy CM asked.

“In fact, this is not the Bharat Jodo but a journey to save family politics. The Congress has tried to bring down the morale of India and Indianness through Rahul Gandhi’s interview given to Kamal Haasan,” he said.

He added: “What does Rahul Gandhi want to say? Does he want India to surrender before China as it did during the Congress regime when the then government surrendered our land to China in the name of ‘Hind--Chini bhai-bhai’?”

“People have faith in the public welfare works being done by the BJP government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi  and the steps toward self-reliant India. In this scenario, Rahul Gandhi’s yatra in Uttar Pradesh is just a formality,” Pathak said.
