Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has asked officials to provide adequate compensation to the families spread over in 28 districts of the state which were lashed by heavy hailstorm on Wednesdaynight.
“The officials should ensure that affected people should get compensation at the earliest. The district magistrates should evaluate the losses and report the same to the government immediately,” Yogi said in a statement here on Thursday.
Official confirmed that 24 people have died in four districts of western UP while 54 others were injured in the incidents house collapse or tree fell on them.
Agriculture produce up to 25 per cent was also damaged in the hail storm.
Of the casualty, highest 15 was reported from Agra district followed by four each in Ferozabad and Mathura and one in Bijnore. Around 37 people were injured in Agra and 14 in Ferozabad besides three in Mathura.
State government has sanctioned Rs 8.05 crore for these 28 districts to be distributed as compensation for the affected families.
