Director General of Police on Wednesday, Nutan Thakur demanded to cancel ADG Arun, Kumar’s transfer to Rules and Manuals Department and to post him to a legally sanctioned place. She claimed that her husband Amitabh
Thakur was earlier posted at the same office hence she knows that there is neither any required paraphernalia nor any work assigned to this Department. Her husband had to sit in open lawn before being allotted a room to sit in.
She has said that this posting is against the IPS Cadre Rules 1954, IPS (Fixation of Cadre Strength Regulations) 1955 and the IPS Pay Rules 2007 which say that IPS officers can be posted only to certain well-defined posts. She has said that such postings are made only to harass an individual officer and to send a strong message in this regards. Calling it a matter of larger public interest, she has requested the DGP to post all IPS officers posted presently to legally non-permissible places to legally assigned ones.
