The Akhil Bharatiya Hindu Mahasabha (ABHM) has decided to appeal against the decision of the Allahabad High Court approving the National Security Act (NSA) imposed against party's acting president Kamlesh Tiwari.

The party has also decided to hold a massive protest in front of the state assembly during the ongoing budget session to oppose the arrest of Tiwari under NSA.

The decision was taken during a meeting of the senior party leaders here on Sunday. The leaders asked the workers to be prepared for a big agitation against the UP government over the matter.

Party's spokesperson Sishir Chaturvedi said here that the NSA clamped against Kamlesh Tiwari was just an appeasement move by the Samajwadi Party government. " Kamlesh's statement was against the UP minister Mohammad Azam Khan’s comment. Instead of taking action against the minister the government implicated the Hindu leader just to appease the minorities," he said.

Chaturvedi, however, said that the party was yet to receive the official confirmation of the High Court panel’s order on the NSA against Kamlesh Tiwari. "After getting the certified copy of the HC decision, the party will move the court accordingly," he said.

Meanwhile, the HC has confirmed the NSA against Kamesh Tiwari. It approved the action of the lucknow authorities to enforce NSA against the leader. The hearing in the case before the HC panel was held on January 19 and the judgement was pending since then.

Kamlesh Tiwari, who claims to be the working president of Hindu Mahasabha, had given objectionable statement against Prophet Mohammed  in November last. He had allegedly also circulated pamphlets against the Muslim community. His remarks had come a day after UP cabinet minister Azam Khan had called RSS members homosexuals.

The lucknow police had arrested Kamlesh on December 3 last after students of Islamic seminary Darul Uloom Deoband and other members of Muslim community staged a protest demanding action against Tiwari. later the lucknow district authorities registered case under NSA against him.

However,  Kamlesh Tiwari was granted bail by the local court early this month on his controversial statement but he was still lodged in the jail due to imposition of NSA.
