Ruling out any role of Samajwadi Party in shifting former UP minister and NRHM scam accused Babu Singh Kushwaha from jail to the Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute (SGPGI) hospital in lucknow, his brother Shiv Charan Kushawaha said the decision was taken on administrative grounds.

“There is no political motive nor any role of the ruling SP in shifting of Babu Singh Kushwaha to SGPGI for treatment,” claimed his brother on Wednesday.  Though the move was made on recommendations of Chief Medical Officer,  Ghaziabad, but it was alleged to be politically motivated particularly as Kushwaha’s wife Shiv Kanya and his brother, Shiv Charan had joined the Samajwadi Party about a week back.

Shiv Charan told reporters in lucknow that his brother was ailing with a heart disease and so he was admitted to the SGPGI for a thorough check up and treatment. “No politics should be seen over the medical treatment of a person,” said he.  Shiv Charan, however, claimed that his brother is innocent in the NRHM scam and has been falsely implicated in the case due to political reasons.”There is no clear evidences against my brother and he will certainly be a free man vey soon,” said Shiv Charan.

Meanwhile, the Special CBI court in Ghaziabad, where the hearing of NRHM scam is underway, has taken a serious note on the shifting of Babu Singh Kushwaha to SGPGI without its permission.  The court is said to have summoned Superintendent of Dasna prison,  Ghaziabad where Kushwaha was lodged to seek clarification. Kushawaha along with another accused and senior IAS officer Pradeep Shukla  did not appear during the hearing which irked the court.
