In an effort to assess the facilities provided to the citizens of various cities by the Uttar Pradesh government, 26 officers, including the principal secretaries and secretaries, have been appointed as nodal officers. These nodal officers have been entrusted with the responsibility of conducting on-site inspections and preparing detailed reports within three days.
The inspections will take place from July 6 to 8, during which the officers will evaluate the ground realities of the schemes implemented by both the Central and state governments. The focus will be on vital amenities such as clean drinking water, sanitation, drainage and road infrastructure.
Additionally, the officers will assess the provision of facilities such as toilets and electricity in houses built under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban).
The officials will also review the effectiveness of schemes under the Smart City initiative and examine the drainage systems in waterlogged areas along with assessing the availability of pure drinking water. The development of funeral sites, monsoon-related arrangements and measures to combat the use of banned plastic will also be scrutinised.
Besides, the officers will also verify the beneficiaries of various government schemes, including PM SVANidhi Yojana, Amrit Yojana, Swachh Bharat Mission and door-to-door garbage collection and disposal. They will also inspect the presence of dustbins at the ward-level and examine the proper separation of garbage for disposal.
The selected districts for assessment include Ayodhya, Ghaziabad, Sitapur, Lakhimpur, Unnao, Sultanpur, Azamgarh, Mau, Meerut, Baghpat, Prayagraj, Fatehpur, Bulandshahr, Hapur, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Varanasi, Ghazipur, Jaunpur, Chandauli, Agra, Mathura, Hathras, Kasganj, Firozabad, Sultanpur, Azamgarh, Mau, Lucknow, Rae Bareli, Hardoi, Deoria, Gorakhpur, Ambedkar Nagar, Basti, Mirzapur, Kanpur, Banda, Jhansi, Aligarh, Bareilly, Etawah, Lalitpur, Ballia, Bahraich, Gonda, Mainpuri, Etah, Budaun, Farrukhabad, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur and Rampur.
