Nirmala Sitaram questions SP's alliance with Congress

PNS

Hitting out at Akhilesh Yadav for Samajwadi Party’s tag line `Kaam Bolta Hai’ Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Nirmala Sitaraman said that if really `work speaks’ in UP why Chief Minister has gone for an alliance for this election.

“Akhilesh Yadav’s desperation to have an alliance with Congress proves that he is not confident with his achievements. Earlier, he used to say that he would go to people with his report card but now he is moving around with crutches provided by Congress,” Nirmala said while addressing reporters here on Tuesday.

She said that fear has gripped Uttar Pradesh. In last two months 18 traders have been killed. In last one week two traders have been shot dead – one in Meerut and other in lucknow. On Tuesday brother of RlD brother has been gunned down. This speaks volumes about prevailing law and order situation here, she said.

“People are scared. They do not know when they go out for work in the morning whether they will return in evening or not. Mothers do not send their daughters out after dusk. Akhilesh knows that he has failed to instill confidence among people so he decided to join hands with Congress,” she said and added that this alliance proves that Akhilesh Yadav has conceded defeat much before going to polls.

She churn out figures to suggest that Union Government had launched many projects for Uttar Pradesh but neither state government nor bureaucrats had shown any interest in implementing those projects. She also declared that country’s biggest Startup incubator will be set up in Uttar Pradesh besides Rs 1000 crore startup venture capital fund would be set up to provide employment to the youth.

“It was the responsibility of the Chief Minister to ensure speed up industrial development. As the state government has failed to improve law and order industries have stopped coming to UP. As a cover up, Akhilesh Government initiated media campaign to show that his government has actually performed. Despite this advertisement glitz he has failed to cut much ice with people,” he said.

Time has come to bring a change in UP. People have made up their mind to say goodbye to Akhilesh Yadav government and instead vote for development, she said.
