New twist to recovery of headless body Victim identified by family found alive

PNS

In an interesting twist to the recovery of a headless body in Meerut last Saturday and its identification by a family, the ‘victim’ was found alive with a girl he allegedly kidnapped from Muzaffarnagar.

Luckily, the police made this breakthrough minutes before the family members were going to cremate the body on Thursday morning.

Now the body has been handed over to Meerut police once again to ascertain its identity and solve the murder mystery.

Last Saturday, a headless body was recovered from a drain behind Sardar Patel Agriculture University under Daurala police station in Meerut. Both hands of the victim were also chopped off by the killer(s) before dumping the body.

The Daurala police had sent photographs of the body to 1,626 groups created on Facebook and police stations to identify the body. When Mansoorpur police saw the photos, they informed the family of Monty, son of Suresh, who was missing from Nona village. When Monty’s siblings and family reached the mortuary, they identified the body as that of Monty.

They claimed that Monty had a tattoo on his neck and the names of his parents were tattooed on his hands and perhaps for this reason the killer(s) had chopped off his head and hands so that he could not be identified.

After the post-mortem, Mansoorpur police brought the body to Surajkund crematorium for cremation. Monty’s family protested against this. There was commotion for several hours. The family members said that they would perform the last rites in their native village. After the uproar, the family left for Muzaffarnagar with the dead body.

On Thursday morning, minutes before the cremation, the case took a new twist when the police found Monty alive in Chandigarh along with the girl whom he had allegedly kidnapped from Muzaffarnagar.

A report of kidnapping of a girl was registered against Monty by the girl’s family members. After the dead body was found, Monty’s family accused the family of the girl of killing their son.

Reports said that Monty had a love affair with the girl and he went to her home on the night of August 28 to meet her and later they eloped. Monty’s family alleged that the girl’s family caught both after which they killed their son and could have eliminated the girl.

It may be mentioned that Monty used to work at a salon during the day in Chandigarh and as a guard at night. The cops found both Monty and the girl in Chandigarh in the wee hours of Thursday and they immediately alerted their counterparts in Muzaffarnagar after which the cremation was stopped and the body was handed over to Meerut police for further investigation into the case.

A senior officer said that they would grill Monty as he might have killed someone and chopped off his head and hands so that his family and others took him as ‘dead’ and he could live freely with his lover.
