The beleaguered Congress got a shock as its city president of lucknow unit Neeraj Bora resigned from the party in protest against anti-people policies of the Congress.Confirming his resignation, the Congress spokesman said Bora, a doctor by profession, said he was feeling suffocated in the party because of the anti-people policies of the Congress. "The Congress always mis-behaved with religious leaders and it pained me. Time and again I raised this issue but my pleas were ignored," Bora told The Pioneer on Sunday.
His resignation came at a time when the Congress candidate from lucknow lok Sabha seat Reeta Bahuguna Joshi is being seen as a formidable opponent of BJP's candidate and its national president Rajnath Singh. It is believed that his quitting Congress would affect the prospect of the party.Dr Bora made it clear that he would not join any other party but reposed full faith in Rajnath Singh claiming he appeared to be the best candidate in lucknow parliamentary constituency. "Mark my words I would not join BJP or any other party now. I will continue to work as social worker and would work for the uplift of the society in a whole," he said.
The Congress however claimed that Dr Bora was thrown out of party for anti-party activities. "The party had taken this decision because he has joined hands with communal forces," said party spokesman Amarnath Agarwal.
