In an attempt to regularise academic sessions in the state universities Governor Ram Naik has asked the vice-chancellors to give details of new session and undeclared results.
Naik, who is also Chancellor of the state university wrote a letter to all the VCs to furnish all details about the new academic session and undeclared results as on July 31 at the earliest.
A Raj Bhawan spokesman said in a statement issued here on Wednesday that Governor has asked VCs to ensure that exams, results and convocations are held as per schedule.
The Governor said financial sanction for universities from the government will be considered. Full-time VCs will be appointed in universities which have acting VCs, he said. The Chancellor said in place of monthly progress reports, universities should provide details of important achievements and proposed activities lined up for the next month to his office.
He said universities should classify two categories of work— those related to the Chancellor’s office and the ones related to the state government— so that the problems are identified and redressed. Earlier Governor had met V-Cs and directors of 24 state universities in which the latter apprised him of the achievements and problems they were facing.
