Amid speculation of major changes in the Akhilesh Yadav ministry and nomination of nine members to the legislative council, Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav called on Governor Ram Naik here at the Raj Bhawan on Sunday. Raj Bhawan officials, however, termed the meeting as a courtesy call. Recently, SP leadership had met in lucknow on Friday last to decide on the expansion of the Akhilesh Yadav ministry besides discussing the names of the nine candidates to be nominated by the government to the legislative council. The meet between Yadav and the SP president could also be seen in the wake of Governor not giving assent to several bills passed by the state legislature. One of the prominent bills pending with the Governor is curtailing powers of the Mayors and power to the government to remove them.
