Breaking the jinx that Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) PM candidate, Narendra Modi doesn’t have place in hearts of Muslim minority, Mohd Rasheed (63) came all the way from Jaipur (Rajasthan) to be a part of BJP’s "Vijay Shankhnaad Maharally" on Sunday. Interestingly, Rasheed has one more relation with BJP in his home city, where the party has provided him space in state office for running his business of selling election material.
"I have come here all the way from Rajasthan to attend the much awaited rally of Modi ji. As we have tried all the political parties in centre now countrymen should give a chance to him. I wish that Modi should become prime minister as he talks to development," Rasheed told The Pioneer.
He shared that there is large population of Muslims living in the country who contribute much to the development. If Modi will become PM then surely he will work for the development and upliftment of the community. "Till now the political parties through their speeches have mislead Muslims and kept them against BJP. There is no issue in supporting BJP if they talk about development," he added.
Advising not to scratch the past, Maher Zama Khan hailing from Saharanpur said whatever happened at Gujarat in year 2002 was sorrowful but after that the state government carried out development across the state irrespective of religion and caste. Those who scratch the past should know the fact that after 2002 nothing happened in the state and Muslims are living with pride.
"The population of Muslims in the country is nearly 25 crores. When Modi will become Prime Minister these 25 crore people will not be left out alone. With change in the responsibility, the mindset will also change," he expressed.
Another group of Muslims from Varanasi including Abdul Waheed, Mumtaz Ahmad Ansari, Badruddin Shah and Sagheer Ahmad came in the morning to get place near to the stage. "We all have come here to hear the Modi’s speech as he touches several issues related to common man. We hope that after becoming PM, Modi will also work for the Muslim community," said Mumtaz Ahmad Ansari.
Commenting on the offer by BJP President, Rajnath Singh to tender apology to Muslim community, Sagheer Ahmad said it is BJP president’s modesty that he was ready to tender apology to the Muslim community and I think it will be enough for the community. "Before blaming BJP, the Congress party should inside as they were responsible for Babri Masjid incident and other riots," he alleged.
