A minor was critically injured as she tried to immolate herself after going into depression following gang rape by some local youths in Mathura. The girl, fighting for her life after being admitted in district hospital, reportedly revealed the name of the accused after which the local police conducted raid and arrested the culprits.
Reports said that one 13-year-old Sita (name changed), a resident of Kosi area of Mathura, had went out to attend call of nature on last Monday night when she was nabbed by some local residents later on identified as Deepak, Vikram Singh, Vinay, Sukhbeer aka lalla, and Dinesh. The accused reportedly pulled her in a secluded place where they said to have raped the girl one by one. The accused also threatened the girl with her life if she revealed the incident to anyone, before setting her free. Reports further said that Sita returned home and narrated her trauma to the family member after which they reported the incident to the local police but the cops refused to register any case.
Depressed with the incident and also in fear of being killed by the miscreants, Sita decided to end her life hence on Tuesday evening, she poured kerosene over body and set herself ablaze. Her family members who saw her going up in flames rushed and somehow doused the fire and shifted the victim to district hospital. later the incident was informed to the local police only after which they turned into action and conducted raids and arrested all the five accused.
Meanwhile in a separate case, another minor girl was gang raped and later murdered by the accused who also said to be minors. Reports said that 15-year-old Sangeeta (name changed), a resident of Shyamalpur locality of Phoolpur in Varanasi, went out to meet her friend on Mondayevening after which she was not traced. The family members informed the local police about the incident. Primarily investigation pointed that Sangeeta, was kidnapped and gang raped by two local youths residing in the same locality. The cops raided the house of the accused but found them absconding.
Reports said that the incident took a turn on Tuesday evening when the body of Sangeeta was found hanging with the ceiling of the house of one of the accused. local police registered a case and sent the body for post-mortem examination. All out efforts were also on to nab the accused.
