A minor girl was burnt alive just after she objected eve teasing. The sensational incident was reported from Philibhit in the wee hours of Tuesday.
Reports said that 17-year-old Sukanya (name changed), a native of Banichowdhary locality of Kotwali area in Philibhit, was teased by some neighbourhood youths identified as Munna, Adnan and Amar. She informed her family members who in-turn reported the matter to the police but the cops refused to took cognizance asking the family members to settle the issue on their own. The matter however took an ugly turn when the girl slapped the youths when they intercepted and tried to molest her on Monday night. Irked with the incident, all the three youths struck at her house in the wee hours of Tuesday. They pulled her outside, sprinkle kerosene over her body and torched her alive. A case was registered against all the above three accused and all out hunt was on to lay a trap on them.
Meanwhile a 22-year-old youth was also murdered under mysterious circumstances in Shahjahenpur. Reports said that Tauhid, a resident of Masudi hamlet of Sadar Bazar in Shahjahenpur went outside in connection with some work on Monday evening but not returned home. His father Nafees Khan, who launched a hunt later reported the matter to the local police. However, on Tuesday morning, the body of Nafees Khan was found lying in pool of blood in the near-by fields. He was brutally hacked to death by some unknown persons. local police which rushed to the spot along with senior officers suspected it to be a case of honour killing. They claimed that it seems that the youth went to meet his lover on Monday evening and was caught by her family members who subsequently hacked him to death. A case was registered in this regard and further investigations are on in the matter.
