Union women welfare Minister Menaka Gandhi has again raked up a controversy when an employee of a forest department alleged that she had slapped him during a function in Pilibhit. District Magistrate O N Singh said on Sunday said that Roop lal, a clerk (class III) grade employee of the forest department has contacted him and has lodged a complaint against the Union Minister.
Roop lal in his complaint said that Menaka Gandhi had slapped him after she saw a fire in the forest. She even reprimanded the Deputy Ranger Mahesh Prasad but he gave her an excuse that this is not his range. Singh also said that Uttar Pradesh's state minister for Khadi and Village affairs Riyaz Ahmad was also there to participate in the rifle shooting competition and Roop lal informed him also about the behaviour of Menaka Gandhi. Meanwhile Singh has asked him to give a written complaint. “Once we get the written complaint required investigation would be initiated,” he said. UP Minister Riyaz Ahmad has condemned this incident.
