Talking about the violence at Benares Hindu University’s (BHU), Mayawati said that the brawl occurred due to the irresponsible attitude of the BJP government and the dictatorial attitude of BHU VC also escalated the matter.

Mayawati said that the BHU students were protesting against harassment of girl students but the VC’s irresponsible behaviour provoked the students to intesnfiy their stir. She said that the BSP condemned the anti-student mentality of the BHU VC and demanded the UP government to ensure justice to the students.
