Bahujan Samaj Party chief supremo Mayawati charged the Centre of targeting Opposition leaders by misusing official agencies like the CBI, ED and IT and announced to launch a nation-wide stir from September 18.

“We will launch an agitation from UP in September and later in November, it will be spread out in all the states,” said Mayawati while addressing national executive members and state heads of the BSP at a meeting in lucknow on Friday.

lambasting the ruling BJP at the Centre, she said that while a handful of industrialists were enjoying the tenure, most of the population were facing problems due to anti-people decisions of the Modi government.

Claiming that during the BJP regime, internal and external security of the country have been compromised, Mayawati said that the number of soldiers killed on the borders were rising and the Modi government was doing nothing.

The BSP chief alleged that the CBI, ED and IT were being used brazenly against Opposition leaders to himiliate them and pressure them to not raise voice against the government, while on the other hand, corrupt practises of BJP ministers and leaders were being overlooked.

“The present BJP government was merely interested in reducing benefits of the common people and help like-minded industrialists to mint money,” Mayawati alleged.
