Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati continued her attack on the BJP charging that despite the being in power both at the Centre and UP, the people of the state received no benefit out of it. Mayawati made the allegations through a statement released in lucknow on Monday.
“The BJP is in power at the Centre as well as the state, yet the people of UP were getting no benefit out of it and feel cheated as the tall promises made have not been fulfilled,” said Mayawati.
She charged that instead of facilitating Centre-sponsored schemes in the state, the budget of the same has slashed.
``The BJP government at the Centre is not supporting Central schemes meant for welfare of the people and was making cuts in the Centre’s share,” she asserted while citing that Central aid for right to education and scheme for creating employment have been reduced.
Reaction to BJP president Amit Shah’s press conference in lucknow on Monday, Mayawati alleged that he was projecting even the failures of Modi’s government as achievements.
“Modi has failed to fulfill any of the poll promises like ‘achchey din’ etc but still Shah talks high of the PM and claimed that the BJP government had several achievements under its belt. He is only ,misguiding the public,” Mayawati alleged.
lashing out at the Yogi Adityanath government in the state, the BSP chief averred that ‘jungle raj’ prevailed and sensational crimes were taking place. The people have been living in fear with several sensational crimes taking place across UP.
Mayawati also accused the BJP of winning elections by making false promises and sought to know how long would the people of the state be taken for a ride by hollow promises.
“Instead of doing work on the ground, the BJP leadership was only making statements that it would take time to improve conditions. Both the state government and the Centre were through dust in the eyes of the people of UP and whosoever tried to raise voice of dissent, were being silenced by misuse of government machinery,” Mayawati alleged.
