Maya slams Modi

PNS

Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for claiming himself as the 'Worker number one' in Ballia on international labour Day. Besides, she lashed out at the SP government in Uttar Pradesh for trying to get cheap publicity.

"Earlier Modi had fooled the country by terming himself as 'Janta's sevak'. Now he is claiming himself to be 'Worker number one'.If he is really concerned for the uplift of labourers, then he should hike their wages. Sweet talks will no longer serve any purpose as people have seen their real face," asserted Mayawati.

Criticising the SP rule and Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav for trying to gain cheap publicity by having lunch with labourers on May Day and launching lunch packet priced at Rs 10 for them, the BSP chief said that launching the scheme at four construction sites covering a handful of labourers will not serve the purpose.

"It is a scheme merely to get publicity rather than doing something tangible for the labourers," the firebraqnd leader said.

On Sunday, while the PM launched 'Ujjawala' scheme for providing free lPG connections to five crore poor of the country from Ballia, Yadav had lunch with labourers and launched subsidised lunch packets for Rs 10 for them at four places in the state capital.
