Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati has criticised the Pushkar Singh Dhami government’s action of sealing private madrasas in Uttarakhand’s capital Dehradun.

Earlier, Mayawati had attacked the Yogi Adityanath government for banning loudspeakers playing in mosques during Ramzan.

On social media platform X, Mayawati posted on Friday: “(After) the demolition of some shrines and religious places by the Uttarakhand government, now there is a lot of discussion about the news of sealing 11 private madrasas in the capital Dehradun. The government must refrain from such malicious and non-secular actions that hurt religious sentiments.”

In another post, the former chief minister of Uttar Pradesh wrote: “The social organisations dedicated to the interest of the ‘Bahujan Samaj’ are welcome to show their awareness by strongly condemning and rebuking the comments of a loudmouth/spoiled leader of the Congress against the BSP party and movement and its iron lady leadership. Appeal to the people to be cautious as well.”

The BSP chief further wrote, “Also, appeal to celebrate the birth anniversary of Honourable Shri Kanshiram ji on March 15 with full missionary spirit. Regarding these programmes of the party, on Friday morning, I visited and inspected the ‘Bahujan Samaj Prerna Kendra’ in Lucknow where his ashes are kept and the UP state office (of BSP).”
