launching an attack on Congress and SP alliance, BJP state president Keshav Prasad Maurya said that scam tainted Congress could not see the ‘achchey din’ after having tie up with Samajwadi Party which patronises corrupt, land mafias and criminals. “Congress after shaking hand with scam tainted SP cannot see the achcey din brought by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The NDA Government has brought better days for the poor, farmers and common man by implementing pro-poor policies,” Maurya said in a statement issued here on Tuesday. He said Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has given a catch line `Kaam Bolta hai’ but the dangling electric lines during joint road show by two ‘yuvrajs’ in the state capital exposed that claim
“Over Rs 100 crore was embezzeled in the name of improving power distribution system, but when wires could be seen dangling in posh Hazratganj area one can understand the situation in other parts of the state,” he said. Maurya said on one hand Modi government has generated 76,982 mega watt of electricity and this year an additional 16655.5 MW of electricity is generated while on the other UP Government needs 25,000 MW of electricity and in last fove years UP government could not generate enough. There is a shortage of 1546 MW in electricity in the state, he said.
“To improve power situation the central government has launched `Uday scheme, but UP government did not provided figures relating to demand and supply,” he said adding that the biggest achievement of UP is that it tops list of power deficit states. “As compared to UP, BJP ruled states, including Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan are providing additional power and providing 24 hours power supply. They are also increasing their revenue by providing power to industries,” he said.
Meanwhile, BJP today questioned the timing of shifting of mafia-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari from one jail to another and alleged SP and BSP are playing game of ‘your criminal-my criminal’. “How Mukhtar, who was once dear to SP, has become blue eyed boy for BSP,” BJP spokesman Shalabh Mani Tripathi said. He said during Uttar Pradesh legislative Council and Rajya Sabha polls Mukhtar was transferred to lucknow jail, during which he carried his activities from the prison. “During this period pictures of Ansari brothers with Chief Minister figured prominently on the posters. Now when the entire Ansari clan has joined BSP, Akhilesh Yadav government has issued order to shift him from lucknow jail. This has surprised the people,” he said.
