Hitting out at Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav, Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya said that the raids of the IT Department, CBI, and ED on the residences of SP leaders were because of the sins committed by the Samajwadi Party for which they would have to pay.

“As you sow, so shall you reap,” Maurya said, throwing a hint that the SP leaders had earned money through illegal methods.

The deputy chief minister even said that in the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report, scams worth billions of rupees were confirmed several times during the SP regime.

“Many cases, including that of amassing disproportionate assets, are already being investigated, but now they want public sympathy by linking it with assembly elections,” Maurya told media persons in Lucknow on Monday.

Maurya said that history was full of examples of SP leaders earning properties worth crores of rupees illegally.

“Even the Akhilesh regime was marred by communal riots, scams, corruption, and lawlessness. This almost unending list also includes food grain scam, mining scam, Gomti Riverfront scam, laptop scam, recruitment scam, EPF scam, Samajwadi pension scam, and unemployment allowance scam,” he said.

Sharpening his barbs against Akhilesh Yadav, the deputy chief minister said that the SP president and his family were still facing a disproportionate assets case.

“Just ask Akhilesh from where he got so much money. Samajwadi Party is now nervous because the raids are now conducted to know the source of this unaccounted money. By linking the raids with elections, the SP is trying to get public sympathy. But they have lost the plot as people know the truth,” he said.
