A 40-year-old man killed self after attacking his wife by some sharp edged weapon in Barabanki on Sunday afternoon. His wife survived the attack and was admitted to a hospital in the district.
Sharif of Satrikh locality picked a fight with his wife Shaheen at their relative’s house in Fatehpur police station area. In fits of rage, he attacked his wife with a sharp edged weapon and then attacked self. He suffered deep cut in his throat and died before he be rushed to hospital. Shaheen suffered serious injuries in the attack and she was admitted to a hospital. Police said Sharif died due to excessive bleeding while his wife’s condition is improving.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Shaheen was suffering with some disease and she moved to the house of her sister’s husband in Fatehpur two months back to get treatment from a doctor in Fatehpur locality. Ten days back, Sharif also reached the house to seek her well being. “Around 2 pm, they had a verbal spat over some issue after which Sharif attacked his wife and then himself,’ police said while quoting the statement that his relative gave to the police during investigation. A case was registered in this connection.
