Claiming that his party is not a political outfit but a party that follows the principle of cultural nationalism, BJP president Amit Shah appealed to the party cadre to make people aware about stance of other political parties vis-à-vis the JNU issue.

“For the last six days, I have been asking Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi to clarify whether he supported anti-national slogans raised in the JNU. But he has chose to keep mum on the issue,” Shah said adding that Gandhi had supported the anti-national slogans saying ‘it was freedom of speech of the students’.

Addressing party workers after inaugurating the renovated state party office in lucknow on Thursday, Shah said that the Congress has no answers to our querries on nationalism because they have sided by the anti-national forces.

“BJP will never comprise on the issue of nationalism. In democracy there is no place for such anti-national elements,” the BJP chief stressed.

Appealing to the workers and leaders to go to the villages and every household in the state, Shah exhorted them to apprise people of the conspiracy of anti-national elements and how the BJP was countering these forces. He said that BJP is not just a political party with an aim to gain power but it has a certain ideology which is based on nationalism.

Speaking on  the imminent Assembly polls in UP, the BJP chief said that the party will come to power in the state with full majority. “We now have a modern party office which will fulfill our goal for a majority government in UP,” he said in the backdrop of party workers chanting slogans like `Bharat Mata ki Jai’ and `Amit Shah Zindabad’.

Shah said that such modern BJP offices would be constructed in all districts headquarters across India. “In UP, land has been purchased in 40 districts for setting up party offices and in 20 other districts it would be done in the next two months,” he said.

He said that the decision of setting up modern party offices were taken during the Bangalore session and within the next two months, 200 districts in the country would be getting new offices with modern facilities like libraries,  call centres, quality food and other facilities.

“We have fixed a target of starting the construction of all district BJP offices in the country by December 2016 and all these offices would start functioning by December next year,” he said.

later Shah met the party legislators from the state and discussed the coming Assembly polls with them.
