A day after calling three-term former Rajya Sabha member of Samajwadi Party, Amar Singh as `garbage accompanying a storm' Azam Khan stepped up his tirade against Singh by calling the wily Thakur as 'the driver and guard'. Khan is ostensibly worried over the prospects of Singh being readmitted to the party and also elevated as member of Rajya Sabha for a record fourth term.
Targeting Singh, the UP Minority Affairs minister said in lucknow on Monday, ``When Amar Singh has access to Mulayam Singh Yadav, then he will talk to him, he won’t ask him to leave. But big leaders are also accompanied by the driver and the body guard’’.
"Singh should learn to stay within limits. He should not attempt to exploit the confidence posed in him by Mulayam Singh Yadav," opined Khan. However he seemed circumspect on the wisdom of his party in sending Singh to the Rajya Sabha and said, ``It will be a great misfortune for our party if a person like Singh is nominated to the Rajya Sabha.’’
Underlining his differences with Amar Singh, Khan had chose to stay away from Mulayam Singh Yadav’s birthday bash at Saifai on November 21 midnight. After cutting the cake, Yadav had offered a piece to Amar Singh. Khan reached the venue past midnight with a separate cake, terming it as `Asli cake’ and the former as `Nakli'. Singh had termed Khan as a friend which the latter dismissed saying that he was never a beneficiary of huge kickbacks stashed by Singh.
On the visit of Rahul Gandhi to Saharanpur on Monday, Azam Khan echoed the sentiments of former CM, Mayawati and said,`` Morning walk is good for health. Those travelling in planes should also take morning stroll which changes the mood. Rahul Gandhi is an unemployed politicians who has nothing to do in Delhi so for a change `outing’ is not a bad idea. He added, ``Rahul's visit is a political formality which is done by every party in different context and requirements.’’
Khan also targeted the RSS chief for saying that construction of a Ram temple at Ayodhya will be a tribute to late VHP leader Ashok Singhal. ``One plank after another floated by the RSS have collapsed. `love Jihad, Ghar wapsi, kutte ka pilla’, Ramzade and haramzade’ and now raking up the temple issue even as it exists in Ayodhya,’’ said Khan.
