Unfazed by the dismal performance of the Bhartiya Janta Party in the recent by poll elections in the three states of Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat and Rajasthan, BJP leader Kalraj Mishra on Thursday said that losing the by-elections was no big deal.
“Haar Gaye To Haar Gaye” remained his constant refrain as he addressed the media persons. Referring to party’s loss in Uttar Pradesh specifically he said that the BJP party had lost because they were pitted against a “Hulla Boll” Party in the state. The senior BJP leader speaking strongly in favour of Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the loss in the by elections was no indicator towards “Modi Magic” fizzling off and hundred days was no standard for measuring the performance of Modi.
He however admitted that things may have gone wrong somewhere and that the voters may have done this to make the BJP Party think about it.To persistent media queries of what was the reason that they had lost in the state of Uttar Pradesh, Mishra said, “We had a “Hulla Bol” Party standing against us in these elections in Uttar Pradesh. What more can I say about this Hulla Bol party” said Mishra. Reminded of the BJP loss in the strongholds of the other states of Gujarat and Rajasthan Kalraj said, “losing 3-4 by elections is not a big deal. Something may have gone wrong somewhere and the “junta” may have done this to make the party think” said the senior BJP leader.
On being asked if the Modi Magic was over after hundred days in office the Minister said that hundred days could not be taken as a standard.“Hundred days is not a standard. The performance of the Prime Minister can be gauged by the fact that in his recent launch of the Jan Dhan Yojana has seen the opening of over one crore accounts. This is not the issue of Modi Magic it is the issue of Modi Krititva (Responsibility)” he stressed.
On BJP leader Maneka Gandhi’s statement that Varun should be brought to the centre stage of the Uttar Pradesh political scenario, Mishra said that he was not aware of the issue. “It is better to put this question to the person who has made the statement” he pointed out.Meanwhile speaking about the State level PMEGP workshop cum review meeting which was organized at the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan Minister Micro, Small and Medium Industries said that it was the first time that a workshop of this kind had been organized. Mishra said that they were aiming at the Youth to be actively associated with the programme. He said that the discussions at the workshop will bring forth suggestions for the resolving of the various hurdles in the programme which will be later taken into consideration.
The Minister said that till now only the submission of the application and the e tracking was being done on line for the PMEGP but they would soon bring in other facilities online. He said that they would go into public private participation to make the scheme popular in the rural areas.
“The Review meeting which was carried out saw the presence of all the stake holders which included members of KVIC, Khadi Gramudyog Board and representatives from the bank to discuss the various procedural difficulties that are faced by the applicants. This is an ambitious programme of the Prime Minister to help bring employment to the unemployed youth and to take it to the rural areas so as to create a manufacturing hub in the country” he said.
The Minister said that the main problems which the scheme was facing was related to the clearance of the pending disbursal amounts, complaints regarding the nodal person and the clearance at the district level and not through the banks.
“There is a lot of time which goes into the acceptance, verification, sanctioning through the banks and then also the disbursement of the loans. These procedural difficulties will be solved once we take into account the suggestions that have been made in the meeting. This review meeting is also a kind of monitoring which is not normally carried out” he said.
