Hitting out at the Akhilesh Yadav government, Union Power minister Piyush Goyal said that jungle raj prevailed in Uttar Pradesh and it was reflected the way two innocent people were gunned down in lucknow and Meerut.
“law and order is rally bad in the state. Criminals come and shoot poor traders in busy market places. Days after the incident, the police has failed to arrest the criminals,” Goyal said while addressing reporters in lucknow on Friday.
The Union minister said that killing of a youth Abhishek in Meerut and Swaran Sahu in lucknow, who was fighting for justice to be handed out to his son’s killers, only point at criminals calling the shots. “The lucknow Police was asked to provide security to Sahu, but they did not act because of their connivance with criminals,” Goyal said.
Taking a pot-shot at the Samajwadi Party–Congress alliance, Goyal said that it was a marriage of convenience. “Both allies are not concerned about improving law and order. They are only concerned about improving their political stakes,” he said.
“The BJP is the only party which is committed to providing ‘goonda-mukt samaj’ where youth, traders, employees and women of all caste and creed will get equal opportunities,” the Union minister stressed.
