Issue blown out of  proportion, says Swatantra Dev

Downplaying the controversy over the alleged resignation of Minister of State for Jal Shakti, Dinesh Khatik, Jal Shakti Minister Swatantra Dev Singh said the issue had been blown out of proportion and no one was angry with him.

“I am in touch with Khatk regularly. In fact, we talk almost daily. He is not angry,” Singh, who is also the Bharatiya Janata Party state president, told reporters here on Wednesday.

“If there is any issue, we both will sit down and settle it,” he said.

Khatik, in his two-page letter, has alleged that he is being ignored because he is a Dalit. He sent his resignation letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah instead of sending it to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Singh said that Khatik had full respect in the party and the government. “Whatever he says is taken seriously. Despite this, if there is any issue, it will be discussed and a solution will be found,” he said.

The BJP state chief said that the party represented all sections and was working on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's basic mantra of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas.

Attacking Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, Singh said that as the opposition had no issue it was trying to create a mountain out of a mole.

“The SP chief has no issue to talk about. The government has successfully registered many achievements during its tenure of 100 days. Frustrated by this, the SP chief is making fabricated allegations,” he said.
