Senior Indian Police Services officer Amitabh Thakur demanded imposition of UP Gangster’s Act against former lokayukta (retd Justice) NK Mehrotra along with tainted former minister Gayatri Prajapati. The latter is in jail in connection with several cases including rape and fraud.

Thakur’s wife Nutan Thakur said that her husband on his Facebook page has mentioned that instead of working as the lokayukta, the former Justice of Allahabad high court, acted like a member of Prajapati’s gang and gave a clean chit to the former minister and his associates despite there being enough evidences against them.

As per Thakur, if Mehrotra, who was then lokayukta, had done justice at that time, action being proposed today would have been undertaken much earlier. She said that now when irregularities and criminal activities of Prajapati were s coming before everyone, Mehrotra should also face the music for his controversial role as Ombudsman.

Nutan Thakur also claimed that the enquiry into the complaint presented by her husband IPS officer Amitabh against ex Chief Secretary Alok Ranjan and Principal Secretary (Home) Debashish Panda about forging of documents in his service related matter was being done by Inspector, Hazratganj. This was stated by Inspector DK Upadhyaya before Court of CJM, lucknow who prayed for seven more days for collecting evidences in this regard. On her part, CJM Sandhya Srivastava directed the police to present its report by May 5, 2017.

Earlier, Amitabh Thakur had submitted his complaint to Hazratganj police station and SSP, lucknow and moved court when no action was taken at their end.

In the complaint, based on Home department and DGP office files, Thakur alleged that these officers criminally conspired to prepare forged documents regarding his suspension and kept him illegally suspended for months and extended his suspension twice.
