Uttar Pradesh will celebrate the 75th anniversary of Indian independence in a grand style as the government has announced that Independence Week will be celebrated from August 11 to 17.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued special instructions, saying that different departments' programmes of Independence Week will run from August 11 to 17.
A government spokesman said that Independence Week will be celebrated on completion of 75 years of independence under which different government departments have been asked to organise programmes at district, tehsil and block levels.
As per the directives, the village panchayat buildings will be named after local freedom fighters while police bands will play patriotic songs at the main crossings of the city. Besides, the PRD jawans will take out a cycle rally with tricolor in each block.
“A special campaign 'Har Ghar Tirangar' will also be launched during the Independence Week,” the spokesman said.
The state government has already declared that all schools and shops will remain open on August 15. Government employees will also come to the office and take part in unfurling the Tricolour. In schools, many functions related to Independence Day celebrations will be organised.
