With an aim to redress the grievances of people Chief Secretary Alok Ranjan has issued directions to housing agencies to organise Authority/ Board Day on every third Thursday of the month in the line of Tehsil diwas.
Maps pending in Development Authorities would be cleared on these days and in case of a holiday on third Thursday, the Day should be organised on next working day,” Ranjan said in his communication.
“Direct dialogue should be established between the general public and officials, so that people feel their participation in governance,” he said and added grievances of public should be understood and resolved on merit.
Ranjan has issued these directions through a letter to all Divisional Commissioners, Housing Commissioner, Vice-chairpersons of all Development Authorities.
“Action would be taken against negligent officers whereas officers doing good job would be appreciated and encouraged,” he said.
Chief Secretary said that nodal officers should be nominated for these days and Divisional Commissioners will be responsible for organizing the days. Divisional Commissioners should make surprise inspections to ensure officers are doing their job deligently, he said.
