In a terse message Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has asked officials to implement schemes in a time bound manner and go out to the field to monitor law and order situation failing which action would be taken against them.

“The Government is working for the welfare of the poor and those living in far flung areas. Schemes have been launched to benefit them. It is the responsibility of the officials to ensure that benefits to the schemes should reach them,” Yadav said in his directives here on Wednesday. Chief Minister Alok Ranjan has been asked to monitor implementation of schemes and report to Chief Minister at regular basis.

“For the rapid development of the state it is mandatory that peace prevails in the state. The officials responsible for maintaining law and order should be alive to this situation and ensure that no one takes law in his hand,” Yadav said.

Following the directives of Chief Minister, UP’s Chief Secretary Alok Ranjan has asked commissioners, DMs, DIGs and SSPs to hold regular inspections. The DMs and Commissioners should visit villages to review implementation of development schemes while DIGs and SSP should ensure good law and order, he said. The Commissioner has been asked to review development in two districts and is also asked to visit two gram sabhas every month. While DMs and SSPs have been asked to visit three gram sabhas. These officials have also been asked to ensure redressal of complaints at Tehsil diwas.

Down the line ADMs and Circle Officers are asked to four villages each. The CDOs and SDMs have also been asked to ensure monitoring of the development schemes. The officials should ensure that schemes are implemented in a time bound manner. Similar directives have been issued for Municipal commissioners, District Supply Officers and Chief Medical Officers. The officials’ visit should be publicized in each block or Tehsil level so that people could meet the officials and lodge their complants, Chief Secretary said in his directives.
