In a bizarre move, inspector general (IG) Civil Defence, Amitabh Thakur, claimed that he will dispose of his statement against his own Director General (DG) Civil Defence, Kamlendra Prasad, in connection with mysterious killing of famous lyricist Santosh Anand’s son Sankalp Anand, who committed suicide along with his wife in Mathura while his daughter luckily survived the attempt.
Thakur, reportedly informed the Principal Secretary Home and Director general of Police (DGP) about his decision. Confirming the move, social activist, Nutan Thakur, who is wife of Amitabh Thakur, claimed that her husband has mentioned in his letter that in one and half month functioning with Kamlendra Prasad, he has seen the same characteristics that Sankalp Anand mentioned in his suicide note.
Thakur claimed that Prasad gets many decisions taken by building pressure on his subordinates and forcing them to write on the note-sheet. He has so much administrative grasp over his work that nothing good or bad can take place in his office without his consent, and hence any show of ignorance is not plausible. He has mentioned about the appointment of casual workers and centralization of construction work already initiated in Civil defence that echoes the allegations made in suicide note.
Based on these facts, Thakur has said that he would bring these facts before the investigating officer in interest of justice. It may be mentioned that Sankalp Anand, in his suicide note accused Kamlendra Prasad, along with others for putting pressure on him for illegal work, due to which he decided to end his life along with his family members.
