The UP Assembly Speaker Mata Prasad Pandey on Thursday announced that a panel of the House would investigate into the sting operation amidst opposition allegations.A resolution to this effect was unanimously adopted by the House. The probe panel is likely to have five members who will find out the truth in the alleged sting operation.

Earlier on Wednesday the opposition parties had joined hands to corner the Akhilesh Yadav Government on the Muzaffarnagar riots. Moreover they also alleged that a sting operation had exposed the culprit behind the riots. The opposition was pressing its demand for action against the person who was allegedly identified in the sting operation.

Even as the blame game is on with the Akhilesh Yadav Government and opposition holding one another responsible for the Muzaffarnagar riots, the Government said the House panel would soon submit its detailed report on the table of the House.

The Muzaffaranagar riots dominated the proceedings of the House on Wednesay as unruly scenes were created. A debate on the issue was held in the House on Wednesday. However during the debate on the Muzaffarnagar riots in the House on Wednesday, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav had accused the opposition parties for riots in Muzaffarnagar which claimed 49 lives. He had described the violence as a  "political conspiracy" to divide the society on religious lines. He also blamed the opposition of trying to tarnish his Government's image. The CM had assured the House that the guilty would not be spared. He said that he would not allow anyone to disturb communal harmony.
