Call it over enthusiasm of party workers hoardings showing Bharatiya Janata Party leader and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi as the next Prime Minister have already come up in Meerut in western Uttar Pradesh.
The hoardings showing BJP and Modi as the winner were spotted last evening outside the Government Inter college building.
The congratulatory hoardings also had images of BJP state unit president laxmikant Bajpayee and local MP Rajendra Agarwal. Bajpayee is local legislator.
When contacted, the MP denied having any information about this matter. “I am getting information about such hoardings, but I am unaware who did all this. It is matter of few hours now. They should have waited for some time,” Agarwal said. “I have asked people to check it outr and if it is illegal the administration should remove this,” he said.
In lucknow, BJP spokesman Vijay Bahadur Pathak said that some overenthusiastic party workers probably could not wait for few hours and put up the hoardings. “Achche din to aane hi waale hai,” he quipped. Recently, the district had witnessed violence between two communities over setting up of public water system near Jain temple.
