He claimed that the findings were sent to chief minister in which besides asking to remove Sangeeta Aneja, recommendation has been also made to hand-over the probe into the hands of some competent agency to find out whether a huge sum was paid by the Aneja to some senior officers to get postings despite of not fulfilling the eligibility.
It was alleged that as gadgets worth several crore rupees as well as many postings has to be made in the new medical college at Saharanpur, so heavy sum has been transacted to get key post. Sources also said that Mehrotra also asked to look into the role of than principal secretary (Medical Education), JP Sharma and special secretary (Medical Education), Subash Chandra, as the two officers not just facilitated the posting of Aneja but when lokayukt enquired from them that whether she met required eligibility, they misguided him and gave a favourable report. Besides action against Sangeeta, Mehrotra also recommended to remove her husband from the two posts as he also violated the laid norms and is enjoying two key postings, one as additional director in the medical and health department and other as head of the medicine department in Meerut Medical College. It may be mentioned that Mehrotra, who sought details from Medical Council of India, whether the rules were violated to appoint Dr
Sangeeta Aneja as principal of proposed medical college in Saharanpur, received reply after which he initiated further proceedings in the matter. Sources said that MCI had reportedly informed Mehrotra that there is no other rule for acting or temporary principal of medical college than what laid for a full time person for the same job. Soon after receiving this, Mehrotra, who was earlier informed by thegovernment that anyone could be appointed as acting principal and that the person not required the same experience as needed for a full time principal, had found open violating of laid norms and get a case registered against Dr Sangeeta Aneja, along with principal secretary (medical education), JP Sharma and special secretary, Subash Chandra. Earlier a complaint has been made that state government overlooked the laid norms to facilitate Sangeeta Aneja as principal of Medical College in Saharanpur.
