With cops of the Government Railway Police (GRP) failed to make any breakthrough in two sensational incidents in which women were robbed in Bareilly and Balia before being thrown out of moving train, yet another college girl received serious head injuries after she too was pushed out of a moving train by miscreants, attempting to snatch her purse in Bareilly.
Surprisingly, senior officers of the GRP here in lucknow still not took the incidents seriously and making investigation as a routine crime even when three females were thrown out of trains by robbers in less then a fortnight time.
The fresh incidence of targeting female passenger was reported near Abhaypura railway station on the lucknow-lalkuan section in Bareilly when the girl was going to college with her sister on Thursday noon. “She was roughed up by the miscreants who tried to snatch her purse and when they failed in their bid, they pushed her out and got down near the outer signal and escaped”, claimed a fellow passenger who pulled the chain to get it stopped and rescue the victim. The girl has received serious head injuries and was rushed to near-by private hospital from where she was referred to New Delhi. She was still battling for her life. Reports said that the girl was a student of BA first year.
last month on August 19, criminals struck on train when they robbed a 24-year-old girl engineer and also threw her from a running train just after she resisted their attempt. Jagrati Sharma, an engineer going under training in a multinational mobile company was traveling on lucknow-Kathgodam Express between Izzatnagar-Kichcha railway stations when some miscreants boarded train at Bhojipura railway station. The miscreants snatched the purse of the girl so she resisted and tried to foil the attempt. However, the miscreants attacked her and to make a safe escape, they pushed her out of the compartment in which the girl was seriously injured. The victim is a resident of Shastri Nagar locality here and was on her way to Rudrapur (Uttarakhand) to join on her duty.
In another similar case reported from Balia, a woman passenger was robbed and thrown off a lucknow-bound express train by unidentified miscreants near Chitbaragaon railway station on Chappra-Varanasi section on the night of August 30 last. The victim, Poonam Maurya, has been admitted to the district hospital where her condition was stated to be serious. The incident occurred on the Chappra-lucknow Express train when Poonam was going to Varanasi along with her husband for her treatment.
