With the aim to take the itra industry of Kannauj to a new height under the One District One Product (ODOP) scheme, the state government has decided to develop a perfume park on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway.

“This perfume park, to be built on 57 acres, will be a platform for small businessmen of Kannauj, where they will not only be able to manufacture their products through the facilities provided by the government, but will also be able to get it recognised globally,” Additional Chief Secretary (MSME) Navneet Sehgal said here on Thursday.

He said through this perfume park, industries which were working on a small scale from homes or shops would be brought to a place where they could be provided common facilities with advanced machinery.

“It is likely to be inaugurated by the end of November. By then its first phase will be completed. In the first phase, 30 acres will be constructed, while in the second phase, the park will be developed on the remaining 27 acres,” he said.

Small perfume traders of Kannauj are working from their homes. Plots will be provided to them in the perfume park. Here they will be able to display their products on a larger scale. Apart from this, small businessmen usually make perfume using coal or wood, which causes pollution. In such a situation, to save the industry, it is necessary that the perfume is manufactured on gas and this facility will be available in the perfume park.

Along with this, there will also be a common facility lab, through which businessmen will also be able to get certificates for their products. Facility for new product development will also be available in the perfume park.

The most important thing is that this park will be thematic. There will also be a tour facility for those who pass through the expressway or come from outside. Just as tourists from abroad are shown how chocolate is made by taking them to a chocolate factory, on the same lines, people will be shown how perfume is made and its specialty. Along with this, the tourists will be taken to the common facility centre (CFC) so that they can also buy the products, the official added.
