Gearing up for a show of strength Samajwadi Party will organise a massive rally in Varanasi on January 23 in which party national president Mulayam Singh Yadav and Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav will give directives to the party workers.
Party’s spokesman Rajendra Chaudhry said in a statement here on Tuesday that all party leaders including legislators and ministers are working overtime to ensure success of the party. “Thousands of youth are moving around eastern Uttar Pradesh on bicycles asking the people to attend rally,” Chaudhry who is Jail Minister in the Akhilesh Yadav Government said.
The party has also decided to hold the next rally at Gonda on February 3. Party workers from nearby areas of Gonda, Balrampur and Bahraich have been asked to start preparations to make this rally a success.
This would be sixth rally of Samajwadi Party in last one month and a half. Earlier Samajwadi Party had held rallies in Azamgarh, Bareilly, Mainpuri, Budaun and Jhansi. “It is the popularity of Samajwadi Party that has made youth, farmers, Muslims and women to come in large number to attend the rally,” Chaudhry said in his statement.
“The Samajwadi Party’s real battle is against communal forces. Those parties who thrive on communal politics will not get any response here. The leader who massacred innocent Muslims in Gujarat will not be ablke to become Prime Minister,” he said.
