The attack on `Khakhi’ remained unabated with fresh case of assault on the cops reported from Agra. An agitated mob attacked the police station and managed to free an accused with an hour of his arrest on Wednesday night. Senior police officers who rushed to the spot only got a case registered in the matter but failed to nab any of the trouble makers.
Reports said that the cops of the Khandauli police station in Agra held Mahesh, Hardev, Shreepal, all residents of Khairiya over a property dispute on Wednesday late evening. From the other side, the cops picked up Sanjeev and booked all under Section 151 of Cr PC for breach of peace. However with an hour of the arrest, the local villagers and supporters of Sanjeev struck at the local police station and tried to release him. When the cops opposed and tried to chase away the villagers they went on rampage and attacked the cops with sticks. The mob also pelted stones at the police party.
later as the cops rushed inside to take shelter, the mob forcibly got Sanjeev released from the custody and they all escaped before senior officers reached with heavy police force. Reports said that the police teams also conducted raids once again to nab Sanjeev and his henchmen but failed to trace out anyone as all left the village and absconded.
Meanwhile, two cops were also drugged by a hardened criminal who later escaped from their custody. Reports said that notorious criminal Kuldeep aka Bhola, a resident of Sirsaganj area of Ferojabad was lodged in Etawah jail. On Tuesday, he was brought to Ferojabad by constables Satish Rohta and Sanjay who produced him in the court for trial. later in the evening, while taking back Kuldeep to lodge him back in Etawah jail, the cops allowed the criminal to use his own Scorpio jeep to travel to Etawah. later taking the advantage, the gang members gave some eatable items to policemen following which both constables turned unconscious. The criminals dumped them on the side of the road at Matsena in Ferojabad and escaped from their custody.
Reports said that local Ferojabad police found the cops lying after which they shifted them to hospital and only late in the night when the two regained conscious they revealed the entire story that how they were drugged by a criminal and his henchmen and how they escaped from their custody. later both the cops were taken in custody and were also placed under suspension after registering a case in this regard.
