In a tragic case, four members of a family were reportedly run over by a train in Sahjankala Pali area in Sonebhadra district while one other was found in critical state in Robertsganj on Monday.
Reports said that the bodies of four people were recovered from the rail tracks on Monday morning. local police who rushed to the spot identified the victims as Prem Yadav (50), a native of Madhopur, his wife Radhika Devi (45), daughter Monika (14) and son Kanhaiya (11). They claimed that Prem Yadav’s another 18-year-old son Shivam aka Bhole, was also found lying near railway track in a serious condition
at Chunar in Robertsganj. He was shifted to district hospital from where he was referred to Varanasi.
The bodies have been sent for post mortem. After investigation, police claimed that the locals have expressed doubts that the incident could be a fall out of some property dispute, adding that it would be known only after the post mortem examination
confirme d if they were run over by the train or killed and put on the tracks to make it a case of suicide. Further investigations are on in the matter and suspected persons were also detained and grilled to extract the truth behind the deaths.
