Responding to complaints of anomalies on wheat procurement centres, the food and civil supply commissioner, Archana Agrawal on Friday warned officials of strict action if wheat price was not immediately paid to framers.
Earlier there has been many complaints of delay in the payment and low weighing at wheat procurement centres. If further delay in payment of wheat price to farmers was reported from any where in state strict action will be take against officials concerned, she said.
The food commissioner said, special instructions has been given to weighing department officials to inspect procurement centres randomly.
Stressing wheat procurement have enhanced in comparison to last year, despite bonus being given over minimum support price the neighbouring states were lagging behind UP in wheat purchase. As per report cards sent by district magistrates the purchase target in 71 districts have been achieved while the purchase was still going on.
